So today at work i was explaining to a customer, a 20 something year old man, that the comforters go from extra warm to cool. Cool being for people that get hot at night and warm being for people that are cold at night. This man interrupts me and says ‘definitely cool, i’m a hot boy’ and then winks at me. While i am working.

And that is why i need feminism because taking buying a comforter from a sales woman as an opportunity to assert your sexuality and flirtatiousness is not only wrong, it is disrespectful and disgusting. By making sexual comments to a woman on the job, you are not only embarrassing yourself but disrespecting and overlooking the fact that women can have careers and jobs. You are belittling a woman that is providing for herself, just as her male co-workers are doing. If a man can do his job without being seen and taken as ‘sexual bait’, if you will, then why can’t a woman? Why can’t a man look at a woman working and decide that she is not in an appropriate environment or state of mind to be pursued? Why must women constantly be seen as sexual bait, no matter where they are, what they are wearing or what they are doing?

Society, please change yourself.

WOMEN DO NOT EXIST FOR MEN’S LIBIDOS.

WOMEN DO NOT EXIST FOR MEN’S LIBIDOS.

ONE MORE TIME, WOMEN. DO. NOT. EXIST. FOR. MEN’S. LIBIDOS.
